Brenda's Debian cake 19th b'day
Here are some pictures of how I and my partner made the Debian
birthday cake.
We started with a wooden mould. Unfortunately we should have made it
flipped left-to-right but we didn't. So we will have to flip the
final photo of the cake ...
He used untreated cedar wood, and used a router to make the Debian
swirl and to make the remaining base thinner. He put the design on
two pieces of wood.
We covered the two pieces of wood with aluminum foil to hold them
together. After putting the foil-covered mould in the cake tin, I
greased the aluminum foil and put cocoa powder over it so the cake
would not stick.
I put the chocolate cake batter in the cake tin, over the mould.
Unfortunately there wasn't quite enough cake batter. I will adjust
the recipe next year.
After the cake baked, I inverted it onto the platter. Then sprinkled
a lot of icing sugar over it for the white background. Then my partner
put raspberry pie filling in the indentation.
Voila! Yummy chocolate raspberry sugar dessert with Debian theme. It
will be better next year. We will make a smaller, horizontally
flipped mould, and we will have a moister cake recipe. That should do
it! We cheated by flipping the last picture to get the logo to come
out right.
